The proposed InnoTeam will develop and thoroughly test the fundamentals for complex repair and retrofitting procedures for building and environmental infrastructure. There is considerable uncertainty regarding the effectiveness of the individual components and their interaction. The theoretical concepts developed within the framework of the “Hermes” InnoTeam and the results of the laboratory tests carried out will be used and transferred to real-world conditions. This also includes the recording of environmental influences, which can only be approximated in the laboratory or by numerical methods. The project therefore falls within the scope of industrial development. Correlations between the interaction of natural and industrial reinforcement processes in connection with various stress scenarios and damage development are being investigated. In addition to testing the immediate effects, long-term observation is an essential element of the project. This will provide a basis for other areas of application. For this reason, too, the project cannot yet be classified as experimental development.
